Now Shooting with Video DSLR
February 26, 2010 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
We are excited to announce that we are upgrading our equipment this year to video DSLRs for our upcoming 2010 wedding season as well as for corporate work. What is a video DSLR you might ask?
Put simply, it’s a still camera that can also shoot high definition video using the same lenses that professional photographers use to get those stunning images. What it means for you is jaw dropping quality that looks and feels more like film than traditional video. I can talk all day about how amazing the new cameras we’re getting are but pictures speak louder than words so here’s a quick clip. Enjoy!

Last year we had the honor of filming Christine and Jonathan’s wedding at the gorgeous Piazza in the Village in Colleyville, TX. Little did I know when we booked the wedding that their event would be featured on the hit TV show, “Platinum Weddings”. So, I just want to take a moment and congratulate Christine and Jonathan for making it on the show. If you want to catch it, their wedding story will be featured this Sunday, February 7, at 8:00pm central on WETV with repeats throughout the week.
On Sunday and through repeats, you’ll get to see WETV’s version, but in case you’re curious, here’s the first 6 minutes from our take of the wedding day. The substantial camera crew that shot the show even makes a cameo or two
Enjoy!

New For 2010: Corporate Video
January 25, 2010 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
Over the past decade, we’ve been fortunate enough to shoot some amazing videos for the Dallas wedding market and beyond. We’ve been chosen as one of the top wedding and event companies by Event DV magazine for ‘06 and ‘07 and have been asked to teach video production all over the country. In late 2009, we decided it was time to bring the same passion and artistry we have for wedding videography to the corporate world.
As a way of introducing our services to local businesses, we are offering our web promotion package. Put simply, the web promotion package is a custom made commercial that lasts from 1-2 minutes that you can embed right on your website. It’s a fantastic and surprisingly economical way to incorporate video into your business model. Here’s a sample from a video we did for Switch It By Nan……
If you would like to have a promo similar to this for your website or need a more complex project, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d be happy to hear from you.

New for 2010: The Storyteller Package
January 25, 2010 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
To me, a wedding video is the best way to capture the sights, sounds and significance of a day that flies by way too quickly. But a wedding video can be so much more than just documenting the day as it happened. With that in mind, I created The Storyteller Package for 2010.
With the Storyteller Package, we not only film the day’s events but we also interview the bride and groom shortly after the wedding to get their perspective on the day. We then use that interview footage as the basis for the wedding video edit. Here are some clips from a couple who chose The Storyteller Package. Special thanks to Humza Yasin of Humza Yasin Photo for the stills that were used in this production. I think you’ll agree, it’s something special…..

In addition to couples planning to get married, this package is also available to already married couples whose video might need a little “rehabilitation” or as part of an anniversary video. Please get in touch for a custom quote if you’d like more information.
I haven’t been this excited over a new product offering in years and I hope you’ll consider this option when booking our services.

2010
January 21, 2010 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
Feels good to be back on the blog.
2009 was indeed a challenge not only with wedding videos but our new baby, the corporate video. It’s been pretty interesting learning new stuff and somehow trying to incorporate our style into something totally (and usually) not wedding related.
So, what to expect for 2010? A LOT! New challenges and a lot more stuff for the brides. First off, we have started to offer our Storyteller’s Package. It’s for those who want to put into their video their thoughts about their wedding day. It’s pretty cool actually. It’s sort of telling your wedding story (while you can still clearly remember it) and incorporating it into your wedding video. It’s very romantic but not cheesy.
It’s been a good year over all and hope y’all had the same.

Summer Weddings
July 2, 2009 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
Still a few more months left before the season is over but I can’t wait to post about the weddings that we had so far.
It’s different hearing the stories from Chris and experiencing them myself. I can still remember how nervous I’ve been when I finally get to hold the camera and film my first wedding with him. That was Jennifer and Justin’s wedding.
The total replanning of Tiffany’s venue, Jennifer Holten’s vineyard reception, and Alisa’s fantastic cocktail complete with the Dallas Cowboy’s cheerleaders, breakdancers, and fairies, are just some of the most memorable ones that we have for the season, so far.
Why do we love weddings? Because we get to capture the emotions that only happen once in your life. After the dust of the celebration settles, the video that we deliver is that one remebrance that bring you back to that very special day; the laughter, the tears, your friends and families, and the look on your beloved’s face.
I’m sure that the next season’s weddings will be just as warm and unforgetable. And I can’t wait to hold the camera and capture them.

Website Updated!
April 23, 2009 | Filed Under Watson Videography | Leave a Comment
Just wanted to announce that after 2 years, the Watson Videography website has been updated. Among the changes……
14 New Clips
One of the more difficult tasks in updating the site was choosing what new clips to add to the site. In the end, we decided to showcase a little bit of everything from a Bollywood Hindu Wedding, to a wedding in Trinidad, to an upbeat wedding in New York City and everything in between. When added to the 9 existing clips on the site, the grand total comes to 23 samples. Many of the new clips are 10 minutes or more so make sure to block off some time. You’ll be there a while….
New Pricing and Packages
In addition to our Director’s Cut series, we now have a lower cost A La Carte option that starts at $2500.
For those past brides regretting not getting a wedding video, we’ve added a Second Chance Wedding Video option so you can still have a great wedding documentary even if you didn’t hire a professional wedding videographer.
We are also offering the Post Wedding Interview where your recollections of the wedding day will be seamlessly interwoven into the narrarative of your wedding documentary.
Check it all out at www.dallasweddingfilms.com.

I have ALOT of catching up to do on posting clips so I’m going to have to break this up into separate posts. Let’s start with April and one of my favorite weddings from that month. Alisha and Jeff….

A Father Daughter Dance like you’ve never seen. By now we’ve all seen the bit where the bride and groom start off with a slow dance and then all of a sudden they start fast dancing to some song by Michael Jackson. As you’ll see in subsequent posts, I’ve had one or two of those at the weddings I shot. This, however, is the first time I’ve seen the Father Daughter Dance go down this route. Enjoy!

Where Have You Been?

God has blessed me with many talents but one of them obviously is not the ability to maintain a blog :). So with that in mind, I thought I’d fill you guys in on what’s been going on these past few months…….
First and foremost: I got married!
On March 12, 2008, after 3 years of being together, me and Barbara finally tied the knot in her hometown of Bacolod in the Philippines. It was, by far, the best day of my life. Of course, anyone I told the news to wanted to know who my videographer was going to be. I’m proud to say that we were fortunate enough to secure the services of the best videographer in Asia and arguably the best in the world: Jason Magbanua (www.jasonmagbanua.com) Here’s the same day edit he produced for us……
http://www.dallasweddingfilms.net/barbsde.wmv
And an 8 minutes highlight he produced for us soon after…….
http://www.dallasweddingfilms.net/barbhilites.wmv
It goes without saying that Jason and his team produced a video that we will always treasure and we are so grateful not only for his talent but also his friendship.
On the photo side, we went with Fotogra Weddings (www.fotogra.ph ) run by Karl de Leon and Mimi Abesamis. The thing that appealed to both of us is how well they captured the candid moments in their subjects and they certainly didn’t disappoint in that regard with us. They are both wonderful artists and wonderful people and I consider them good friends and not just vendors. Here’s a link to our photo gallery…..
http://proofs.fotogra.ph/gallery2/weddings/chris-barbara/ If going through the wedding planning process has taught me anything it’s that at the end of all the craziness of planning, what matters most is showing up……and of course making sure you have the best pics and video you can afford. Because at the end of the day, that’s what endures (other than being married obviously).
So far 2008 has been a great year. I’ve had the opportunity to not only return to some of my favorite spots to shoot in Dallas but also to see some of the world when I was commisioned to shoot a wedding in Anguilla in April. I’m returning to that corner of the world in October and can hardly wait. With my clients’ blessing I hope to be sharing some clips from my ‘08 catalog soon. In the meantime, here’s one of my faves from ‘07………

Anyway, I wanted to get everyone up to speed on what’s going on. Hope you’re having a great week and I’ll try and update my blog a little more often than once every six months ![]()

Destination Wedding?

Hey Guys, One of the questions I’ve been asked by some brides during this booking season is, “I’m not getting married in Dallas. Do you travel?” The short answer is “Yes!”. If this is the case with you, please get in touch with us to discuss your options. Having us shoot your wedding, no matter the locale, might be more realistic than you think. Chris W
