Melanie ~ Alex . . . 4th of July Veritas Vineyard and Winery Wedding
July 23, 2010 | Filed Under United Wedding Productions | Leave a Comment
Melanie and Alex had the wedding of their dreams at Veritas Vineyard and Winery. It was very obvious the couple, along with Melanie's mom and staff at Veritas put a lot of planning and effort into bringing Melanie and Alex's vision to light.
Our day began by filming all over the vineyards. It is very hard to be uninspired when you are at Veritas. Whether I am there filming or there tasting their fabulous selection of wine I am inspired in some way. The wonderful views, amazing "spirits" and great energy of Veritas makes it a very easy choice for a coupe to set their wedding and reception there. Great choice Melanie and Alex! The outdoor ceremony was perfect. The sun started to go behind the mountain tops and the air began to cool a bit as Melanie came down the aisle. No threat of ran...just a wonderful moment in time for the two to become one. After the ceremony, we had just enough time to have the couple walk into an amazing sunset. Thanks Melanie and Alex for letting me capture some breath taking moments. The reception began with great tunes from Derek of Derek J. Tobler Professional DJ Services. It's always a pleasure to work with you buddy. The night came to an end with an amazing sparkler finale...after all it was the 4th of July. Of course the couple travelled in the classic 1948 Fleetwood Cadillac limousine provided by the great folks at Albemarle Vintage Limousine.
Melanie and Alex, thank you so much for entrusting the United Wedding team to produce your wedding film! It was a wedding and a 4th of July celebration that we will never forget.
Randi ~ Ryan at the Country Club of Virginia

Ryan and Randi stepped up to home plate on June 19, 2010 and knocked the ball out of the park (Ryan, thought you might appreciate the baseball reference).
Everybody came together with such love and great energy to make a day that will be hard to ever forget. Randi, Ryan and their parents thought of everything to ensure a smooth and fun filled day. Their thoughts included hiring some great people to help the couple's wedding dreams come true. Their first great decision was to have their reception at the Country Club of Virginia, James River Clubhouse along with their bridal attendant Susan Birkhead. Thanks Susan for setting me straight with how the Hokie Bird entered the party. The couple also wanted to make sure their guests had a great time by booking the always entertaining Gentlemen and Their Lady. Great tunes guys! Randi and the girls got some special treatment the morning of the wedding by getting their hair and make up done at Haley Too Salon ~ Day Spa in Carytown. The couple exchanged their vows in the ever so beautiful All Saints Episcopal Church on River Road. From the beginning, I thought Ryan and Randi were a very smart and with it couple and when they told me who their photographer was then my thoughts were confirmed. They entrusted the always fun to work with Don Mears of Don Mears Photography to capture all of their magical moments. Along side Don was the very talented Meghan McSweeney. Thanks guys for working so well with us. We will always look forward to working with you guys!
Randi and Ryan, thank you so much for having the United Wedding team produce your wedding film and we wish you a life time of love and happiness!
Jefferson Hotel Same Day Edit - SDE

We had such a wonderful time with Becky and Chris this weekend...what an awesome couple! Becky's mother, Diana wanted something to push the energy level of the reception over the top! We suggested a Same Day Edit and before you knew it the crowd was jamming to the clip we produced that showcased the events of the day, some of which had just taken place not more than an hour or so before! Needless to say the energy level was off the map when the band, "Big Ray and Kool Kats" returned to take the stage.
Same Day Edit's are a wonderful treat for your guests! They are able to see the events that took place before the ceremony (where many of them join the event). The bridal party and family are able to look back on the day that they themselves were part of ... all of this within hours of the actual events themselves. It's a great way to raise the energy level of any reception and offer something to your guests that is unique and entertaining!
McBride Events did an awesome job planning this event! Thanks to Jen and Dee for all of your help!
Enjoy this Same Day Edit of Becky and Chris's wedding day!

Bonnie ~ Daryl . . . Buckingham Wedding
July 15, 2010 | Filed Under United Wedding Productions | Leave a Comment
McDaniel Wedding take two. I say that because this is the second McDaniel sister we have filmed this year. Lauren, the middle sister, had her wedding back in March and that is when I was introduced to this awesome family. I got extremely excited and honored when they asked us to film the youngest sister Bonnie's wedding.
Bonnie and Daryl had their wedding ceremony and reception at her parents house in Buckingham County, VA. I remember them asking me if I knew where Buckingham was and I kind of laughed because I grew up in Prince Edward which is the next county over. It was kind of a homecoming especially when many of the other vendors where from Farmville (Prince Edward County). Rochette's Florist provided the wonderful flower arrangements and greenery. The great food was provided by Charley's Waterfront Cafe and I must say that even with the thunderstorm they were still able to serve everything on time. Great job guys! The bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses were provided by Caryn's Formals of Farmville. I think I rented my prom tux from you guys years ago :0) The last Farmville vendor was Crystal Image Photography....great working with you two! Now, there were some other vendors that were not from Farmville that need to be mentioned and that is Dennis Collins of Manny Green Entertainment, who not only was the dj but the officiant as well. Very impressed Dennis! I have to talk about Party Perfect because they put up a tent that withheld the major wind storm that flew in moments before the ceremony began. Solid tent!
The ceremony was slightly delayed due to the wind and rain storm but that did not kill the mood of the day. The couple went ahead and got married in the rain anyway. It truly is a wedding I won't forget. Thanks for having us out there to produce your wedding film!
Ashlea ~ John . . . The Cloister at Sea Island

What can I say about The Cloister at Sea Island besides OMG is it beautiful? If you are looking for an elegant, southern venue to host your wedding then this is the place for you. Every direction I pointed my camera I found something amazing to film. The sea grass along the shore...the bride and her dad walking through an amazing garden...the bride and groom leaving The Cloister with huge sparklers shooting off straight up into the air...all equals a wedding filmmaker's dream. Thanks to Kelly Watkins, her assistant Marian White and all of the staff at The Cloister for making us feel welcomed and relaxed to capture all of Ashea and John's awesome moments.
Hon of Chia and Hon Photography was a dream to work with. Hon is such a talented photographer and fun to work with. Thanks Hon for adding to the excitement of filming at The Cloister. I would work beside you again and again my friend! Some of the other vendors that stood out were Rose Sinclair who created the decor with wonderful flowers, lighting and other decorations. The band PapaSol created a wonderful astmosphere at the reception with their amazing music and vocals. Great tunes guys! Also, Ashlea's dress was amazing! The designer was Melissa Sweet and it was purchased at Bluebelle Bridal.
Everyone that was involved created an amazing and unforgetable experience for Ashela and John. Congratulations guys and thanks for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful weekend!
Adrienne ~ Heath . . . The Mill at Fine Creek

As soon as Adrienne and Heath stepped into our studio for the very first time, I knew we were going to have a blast working with them and indeed a blast was had!
The couple got married at The Mill at Fine Creek and by doing so their wedding dreams were able to come true. Lisa, Colleen and Kyle were the dream time that made sure Adrienne and Heath's wishes were all put together. I just want to say The Mill at Fine Creek makes a great back drop for a wedding film and we look forward to working there in the future. Also, Al Brockwell, with FloraCulture, created wonderful arrangements that were nestled all around the venue. Great job Al!
The United Wedding team wants to thank Adrienne and Heath for entrusting us to produce their wedding film. You guys were amazing to work with! Congratulations you guys!
Ocean Isle Beach, NC . . . Emily ~ Justin

Emily & Justin had the wedding of their dreams in a location that is very special to not only the two of them but to both sets of parents as well. Justin "man upped" on the island by purposing to Emily and her response "yes" began their fun and crazy wedding planning journey.
Emily & Justin went out of their way to make every family member, all their friends and even the wedding vendors feel appreciated and loved. The couple surrounded themselves with very talented professionals to insure all of their hard work and planning were not in vain. Rachel Munro, of Bridal by the Sea, was the team captain by coordinating the weekend beautifully. Thanks for the hospitality Rachel, especially all of the Fat Tire. All of the picturesque moments were captured by Abigail and Tracy of Abigail Seymour Photography. You two were wonderful to work with and we can't wait to see all the pictures. Talk about great food! Emily & Justin both work in the food industry with Justin at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC and Emily at the Great American Restaurants, so needless to say the food had to be out of this world. Joe Caldrapoli of Coastal Catering and Events was responsible for delivering great taste under such great pressure. Now the decor and the entertainment had to match the wonderful food so Justin and Emily had the Craig Willard Band and Total Package do their thing which is getting the guest to move their feet.
Emily & Justin are an unforgettable couple and it comes to no surprise that they created unforgettable wedding weekend!

Lauren and Adam were all set to get married on February 13, 2010 but things changed when Adam was informed he may be sent to Haiti. Wedding postponed...:0( Scott and I were worried that we would be booked when they rescheduled but luckily March 20th became the magical date for everyone. You could tell that they were supposed to get married on this day because everything went off without a hitch. Thanks everybody for making their day a success especially to the very talented vendors . . . Sophisticated Soirees, Dennis Collins with Manny Green Entertainment, Jerry with GML Designs, LLC, Bella Photography, Party Perfect, the staff of the Science Museum of Virginia and Caryn's Bridals in Farmville, Va where Lauren got her amazing dress.
University of Richmond Spiders wed at Canon Chapel- Beth ~ Chris
March 26, 2010 | Filed Under United Wedding Productions | Leave a Comment
When Beth and Chris approached us to produce their wedding film, the University of Richmond Spider Football team had just won the 2008 NCAA division I championship. Not only did both the bride and groom attend the University, but Chris was a member of this championship team. Spider blood runs deep with this couple. They had their ceremony at the awesome Cannon Memorial Chapel on the university grounds followed by an energetic imaging session on the football field as the bridesmaids faced off against the groomsmen. A big thank you to Carla Shriner, the couple's event coordinator who was so helpful throughout the entire day. You ROCK Carla! The reception followed at "The Place" in Innsbrook where the couple and their family and friends partied the night away to the sounds of DJ Breeze (Wilbur Athey). ?Once again we had the pleasure of working along side our good friends Dale and Roshan Quarterman of Quarterman Photography Studio... what can I say... you guys are awesome! Enjoy this "Sneak Peek" into Beth and Chris's wedding day produced by Martin and Scott at United Wedding.
Same Day Edit at Clover Forest Plantation
March 21, 2010 | Filed Under United Wedding Productions | Leave a Comment
There is no better way to raise the energy level at your reception than by treating your guests and bridal party to a "Same Day Edit" (SDE). A very unique treat in the form of a short film that showcases your most magical of days just hours after it has started. Your guests get to share in moments they were never aware of until your SDE. {re}live the preparation, fun and entertainment that took place just before you walked down the aisle. Rook, the father of the bride, was the only member of the bridal party and the guest list who was aware of the Same Day Edit. We have chosen to place a small picture in picture of Kristy and Brandon while they were watching so that you can see their reaction. While Kristy and her bridesmaids had a leisurely morning at Clover Forest, Brandon and some of the guys chose to spend their time on the golf course, where Brandon held school! It wasn't until the SDE screened that many of Brandon's close friends realized that he did infact play golf (at least that day) quite well.
the Kings of Swing band was present and provided some awesome music throughout the evening. Thanks so much to Mellisa, Sebastian and the rest of the staff at Clover Forest Plantation for all of your help! What can we say... you guys are the best!
We hope you enjoy this Same Day Edit of Kristy and Brandons Autumn wedding day!
Wintergreen Ski Resort + King Family Vineyards = Summer ~ Jim

What an awesome weekend with Summer and Jim!!!!
The shooting began on Friday at the King Family Vineyard in Crozet, VA. We totally recommend visiting the vineyard if you have not already and oh yeah definitely partake in their fabulous wine. Everyone gathered for the rehearsal process to be instructed by Jenny and Jennifer of Jennifer Carroll Events, which went off without a hitch. Thanks Jenny and Jennifer for all your help! Saturday morning began for me 3000 feet above sea level. All you mountaineers out west are laughing right now but come on it's the east coast 3000 feet is pretty high. Summer & Jim both got ready on opposite sides of Wintergreen Ski Resort, where I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Paige and Tisha of Paige Stevens Photography. Nice working with you two. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lucinda Riley and her staff of Face Value Studio and Salon while they applied the girls make up and fixed up their hair. Everyone looked great Lucinda! Summer and Jim finished getting ready and were transported down the mountain to the vineyard in style by the folks at James Limousine. We love filming your awesome vehicles! The ceremony went beautifully largely due to the guidance and blessings of the wonderful and personable Reverend Claire Goodman of Sacred Ground Ceremonies. Always a pleasure working with you Claire! Everyone had a blast at the reception, which comes to no surprise, for many reasons but mainly because the King Family Vineyard's ballroom is exquisite and the simple fact that the tunes kept flowing with dj Derek Tobler behind the mic. Awesome...set up Derek! The night ended on such a high with a farewell set with sparklers. Got to love the sparklers!
Summer and Jim, thank you so much for having us film your wedding weekend and we can't wait to produce your full version film.
Maui Destination Wedding with Stephanie and Isaac

As if spending a week on Maui isn't enough! We had the wonderful opportunity to capture some of Stephanie and Isaac's wedding day at the beautiful and picturesque Hyatt Regency Resort on Maui. This highlight spot showcases just how much fun they had! While Isaac was chilaxen with family and friends, Stephanie and her bridesmaids were kicking it up a notch on the beach front of the Hyatt. The ceremony took place on the terrace overlooking the island of Lanai. Nothing is more beautiful than to have the pacific ocean and the rich blue sky of Hawaii as the back drop for your tropical destination wedding. Thanks so much Stephanie, Isaac and Mr and Mrs. Rolon for your trust and hospitality! Stephanie and Isaac had an wonderful photographer.. Billy Scanlan who was awesome to work with! Billy, thanks so much for being so easy going with this project... it truly was a pleasure! Enjoy this short highlight spot shot with one Canon 7D camera on a monopod with 2 lenses.
UWP in Williamsburg, VA at St. Bede Catholic Church & Kingsmill Williamsburg Marriott

The weekend started off with all of us glued to our TVs waiting for the updated forecast. The winter's first storm is heading our way and it is going to be dumping about ten inches of snow all over Richmond, VA. My first thought was "I gotta get to Williamsburg before the storm or I am gonna be snowed in Richmond on Jackie and Harrison's wedding". I went down Friday to film the rehearsal and decided to get a hotel room and stay put. Boy am I glad I did because if I hadn't then I would have been stuck with a foot of snow all around my car.
Williamsburg only got about two inches of snow which insured Jackie and Harrison the wedding of their dreams. A few of their vendors were snowed in but that didn't keep the couple down. Family members and friends came together and helped out with whatever needed to be done.
I had the pleasure of working with the very talented Andrew and Beth of Andrew Tawes Photographey www.andrewtawes.com. The way we all worked together was just another example of how photographers and videographers can not only get along but actually have a blast at the same time. You guys rock!
The ceremony took place at the elegant St. Bede Catholic Church and the reception was held at the Kingsmill Williamsburg Marriott where I had the pleasure of working with Jeff Bristow of Tidewater DJ.
Congratulations Jackie and Harrison!

Wyndham Virginia Crossings Helped Shannon ~ Waverly’s Dreams Come True

Forecast for October 17, 2009 was highs in the low fifties and rainy conditions but that was not going to stop this bunch from having the time of their lives. Shannon & Waverly had their ceremony and reception out at the lovely Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel & Resort. United Wedding worked beside and with some very talented people. Eleise Theuer of Eleise Theuer Photography was a complete joy to work with and to top it all off she is an amazing photographer. If you have not had the pleasure of seeing her work I highly recommend you go to her website and see for yourself how awesome her work is. Cakes by Graham delivered a beautiful and very tasty cake, as always. Finally, Choice Entertainment's one and only JB Bostic handled all of the reception's formalities and music beautifully. Thanks for the sound feed from your board JB!
Shannon & Waverly had a perfect wedding and we are so happy to have been a part of it. Congratulations guys!

When Kristen approached us over a year ago to produce her wedding film we knew it would be an awesome day. We are so fortunate to be able to spend the day with such a great couple and their family and friends. The chemistry we developed with them is so important to the overall "feel" of their film. Thanks so much Kristen and Adam! We were once again joined by our good friends and awesome photographers, Dale and Roshan Quarterman of Quarterman studios! There is no better match than a combination of fine art wedding films and fine art wedding photography when it comes to remembering your most magical of days! Kristen and her ladies prepared for the day at the trendy Berkeley hotel in Richmond while Adam and his groomsmen readied themselves across the street at the Richmond Omni hotel. St. Johns Church in Richmond Virginia provided a great place to get married on Stuart circle where some of the most breathtaking civil war monuments are located. After a quick imaging session with the monuments the wedding party moved to the Virginia capitol building for what is simply an epic experience followed by an arrival at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for the reception! Enjoy this "sneak peek" into Kristen and Adam's wedding day!

Ashley and Alex in Powhatan Virginia

What an awesome day! The day started with myself, Martin, hanging out with Ashley and her girls while Cynthia spent some time with Alex and his fellows. Ashley got ready at Alex's grandparents' house which was the same location as the reception. The location couldn't have been more perfect for this couple. There was a relaxed comforting feeling that lingered throughout the entire day. Maybe it was because of the family setting or maybe it was because this couple truly new the importance of their wedding day. I think it had a little to do with both. The beautiful surroundings led to some awesome shots for our purposes and also for the photogs as well. United Wedding teamed up with Quarterman Photography, which always makes for a fun day. Photographers and filmmakers that have a mutual respect for one another can only lead to outstanding moments to be captured by both teams, which makes the client happier then they could have ever imagined.
Thank you Ashley and Alex for trusting us to produce your wedding film. Enjoy the show!
