Kristy + Andy’s Notre Dame Wedding Trailer
September 1, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Kristy and Andy had a gorgeous wedding in South Bend, IN. Both attended Notre Dame, so it came as no surprise that they were married in the b-e-a-utiful basilica on campus. Kristy and Andy also put together a very unique and cool reception, complete with a one of a kind entrance! We had the opportunity to work with some very cool vendors as well, including Mel Ball and the Colours, and the Morris Performing Arts Center.
We had an awesome time with these two, and it was awesome for me to be able to visit Notre Dame’s campus. That place is full of so much history and the people are so passionate about the University. It’s seriously SO cool to see. Congrats to both of you!!

Amanda + Ben’s Wedding Trailer {wakeboards included}

Loved filming this wedding… Amanda had the best attitude of any bride – super laid back and was constantly wanting to make sure everyone was having fun. So much so, that since it was taking people a little extra long to get the party going on the dance floor, Amanda and Ben decided to do a little wakeboarding on Gun Lake before the party really got going. Yes – this happened after dinner — ON THEIR WEDDING DAY. You gotta see it to believe it.
They came back wet and ready to dance. It was awesome.
We finally got the chance to shoot with super fun and spectacular photographers Kristen and husband Jamie from K. Holly Studios. Make sure to take a look at the couple of shots she got while we were on the water.
PS. Bay Pointe Inn Lakefront Resort – this place was SWEET. GREAT location on Gun Lake… perfect setting for a wedding – and perfect place for Amanda and Ben.
PPS. To our brides – we are ALWAYS up for something fun/crazy like this FYI
PPPS. leave a comment {please} – would love to hear your reaction…

The Apple Mountain Wedding Trailer of Brittney + Vincent

We recently made the trek up to Freeland, Michigan where we filmed at the very cool Apple Mountain golf and ski resort.
The ceremony was SUPER pretty. They even released a group of doves, which I had never seen before. (totally rad!)
During the reception, Brittney’s maid of honor and sister Randi gave an amazing speech. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Ok, maybe a tear or two. But don’t tell anyone.
My favorite part of the day were the cards that Brittney and Vincent gave to one another. (I highly recommend this to anyone who is currently planning their wedding!!) The cards were so heartfelt and really showed the type of special relationship these two share.
Congratulations to both of you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day.

Rose + Sam’s Main Feature (part 3 of 3): The Reception
August 16, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
The transformation of the Henry Ford Museum for Rose and Sam’s wedding was UH-MAZING. You’ll get a glimpse of the work that went into it with the time lapse cameras we set up. One of my favorite parts about this whole event was reflecting on all of the people+companies that came together and did their specific job(s) to create something so beautiful for Rose and Sam. It was truly a team effort and I’m so glad we were able to take part. Carolyn from The China Closet was on the TOP of her game making sure every detail was taken care of. GREAT JOB, Carolyn!
I LOVE LOVE the credits at the end… we rolled the credits over the Super 8 footage from the party+dancing… make sure to watch til the end so you don’t miss the Super 8 GOODNESS.
Can’t stop smile after listening to Sam’s speech (and Rose’s response): “I can’t imagine anything better than this.. this is the ultimate wedding I’ve ever been to. And I’m a part of it.. I’m in the wedding.” GREAT line!
More of the sweeeet vendors that helped make this event possible:
Entertainment: Simone Vitale Band
Flowers: Bellisario Florist
Rentals: Colonial Event
Lighting: The Lighting Guy
The Cake: Michelle Bommarito
In case you missed either of the other parts from their Main Feature, here is a link to the wedding preparations and here’s a link to the ceremony+photo session.
Only a few short hours after giving them their Blu-ray discs+DVD’s, here’s what Rosemarie posted on my Facebook wall:
Rosemarie wrote:
“Awesome awesome we love it! You guys are amazing. Thank you so much love the mix of the HD with the super 8 footage. So beautiful and we cracked up watching the end of the ceremony because we didn’t know when to kiss and you could here Sam whispering on his mic. Hilarious thank you for capturing our day so amazingly. Can’t wait to show the family.”
Blessed. Love.My.Job.

Rose + Sam’s Main Feature (part 2 of 3): The Ceremony and Photos

This is the second part of Rose and Sam’s wedding film we call the Main Feature – an extended edit that has a nice blend of both cinematic and documentary elements. The ceremony was held at the gorgeous Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit and following the ceremony we headed to Hart Plaza for some pictures and then we were off to The Henry Ford in Dearborn to finish the photo session.

Rose + Sam’s Main Feature (part 1 of 3): The Preps
August 13, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Here it is FINALLY! Rose and Sam were married at The Henry Ford. It was hands-down one of the most gorgeous events we have ever had the honor of being a part of. The attention to detail was phenomenal.
This is somewhat of a newer product we offer called the Main Feature. It is a 20-30 minute piece that depicts the day with a mix of documentary and cinematic elements. It is obviously longer than a 4-6 minute highlight reel but our goal is that it’d be something that would keep the viewer engaged and really depict the story of the day in an authentic and beautiful way. This is the first of three parts of their film – the next will include the ceremony and the final will be the reception.
You’ll notice that they chose to add Super 8mm film – so there is a mix of gorgeous HD cinema with some authentic raw film… I LOVE this look. PS. This is NOT an effect – we really are using old-school cameras and film to achieve this look… I wrote a post in early 2009 specifically about why we love shooting film and why I think it’s better than just adding a digital effect to make footage look like film.
I am so proud of my team for creating such an awesome piece. And I am so happy to have gotten to know Rose and Sam over the past year and a half.
Enjoy the first part of their Main Feature and come back soon to watch the rest!
Some of the key players from the day:
Venue: The Henry Ford Museum
Planner: Carolyn Heffner of The China Closet
Photographer: Ray Anthony Photography
Dress: Roma Sposa
Band: Simone Vitale

Khadeen + Devale’s Wedding Trailer
August 12, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
My first time ever to New York City was to film Khadeen and Devale’s wedding at Terrace On The Park. Devale played football with Drew Stanton for the Detroit Lions and that’s how Khadeen and Devale found us. We had a great time getting to know them and we’re really happy with how their trailer turned out.
One of the funnier things from the day was both Khadeen and Devale used their cellphones to read their vows from. Everyone laughed as they scrolled through their phones. I loved their vows; very personal and very “them”.
We also had the pleasure working with photographer Joshua Dwain and his team.. they were AWESOME! Adhari and Erika from Pampered Bride Weddings were there to make sure everything looked pretty and happened on time… or as close as possible!
Enjoy the trailer!

Association of Bridal Consultants Detroit-Style
August 12, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Eric and I had the pleasure of presenting to the Association of Bridal Consultants Detroit chapter at the MGM Grand Casino. The topic of the evening was the “little touches” that companies can add to help make a wedding even more special than it already is. Our focus was on the same day edit – and to show people what we meant – we created this same day edit of the actual event.
Also fun to note, this was Eric’s first stab at a same day edit. He shot all of the footage and edited the piece in an hour.
Thanks to Laura Davis and the rest of ABC for having us out! And great job – as always to Bethany and her team at MGM Grand Casino. Some of the other vendors that were involved include Chair Covers and Linens, Just Baked, Lisa’s Gift Wrappers, Lorio-Ross Entertainment, and Parsonage Events.

Take two minutes from your day and enjoy this.

Tricia and Matt… oh, Tricia and Matt. It meant a lot to film their wedding.
I have been friends with Matt for the past 6 years. We coached freshmen football at Adams highschool (9 and 0, baby!) and it was love at first site… errr – something like that.
Anyway – I (along with many others) are ecstatic for these two… THANK YOU for giving us the honor to film your day and thank you for your friendship. Much love to you both ALWAYS.

Carolyn + George’s Same Day Edit
July 31, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Love love love these guys. I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the entire day – and it really is due to the fact that Carolyn and George are the SAME WAY. Great attitudes… great hearts.. great people to be around.
MGM Grand was the host for the party and Saints Peter and Paul Jesuit Church was where the promises were exchanged.
We worked with our friends Jen and Jason from Imaginz Photographic Studio and their assistant Jaime.
My favorite part of the day: After the same day edit played, I gave George a hug and proceeded to give Carolyn a hug – but gave her a moment to collect herself as she was in the middle of crying. This is one of the only times when it’s okay to make the bride cry…
ps. You guys “made” the blog. Congrats.
Congrats again, C+G – much love to you both, your families’n'friends, and your maids of honor

Style Me Pretty Inspiration to Reality Film: Caleb + Laura
July 26, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Style Me Pretty Inspiration to Reality has created quite a buzz recently – and we’re honored to have been a part of another team of rad-tastic wedding professionals who created a GORGEOUS ITR for Style Me Pretty. Here’s a direct link to the Style Me Pretty blog…
The Epic Motion approach to the Inspiration to Reality shoot:
One of the first things we did when we showed up on set for the shoot was meet the models. We quickly found out that Caleb and Laura were good friends of Jess and Nate (the photogs) and that they’ve been married for six years… within the first few minutes we were laughing together and really connecting with them. We also learned that they didn’t love their wedding photos from years ago and they didn’t have a wedding film (shame-shame). They jokingly said they were going to replace what memories they did have from their wedding with the ones that would be made that day.
My thought: let’s really create something awesome for them that they’ll adore and that will be a reminder of their love for each other as well as something that shows off how stinkin’ good looking they are (the latter part was SUPER easy to do). Of course, in the process the hope was to capture all the amazing details from the A-list of vendors that were hand picked for this shoot.
We chose not to use any natural audio as well as decided to forego much of the “behind-the-scenes” stuff for the piece and create a fun little music driven film. Ultimately my thought was that this could become a small treasure for Caleb and Laura and their family.
Here’s a list of the people and companies that were involved with the shoot:
Event Design and Styling by Lucia|Paul Design
Stationery and Sweets Table by Dooby Design Group
Floral by Bellasario Florist
Linens provided by Gala Linen
Photography by Jessica Johnston Photography
Film by Epic Motion
Bridal Gowns, Hair Accessories, Jewelry provided by Katerina Bocci
Lighting by The Lighting Guy
Draping, Chandelier and Rentals provided by Colonial Party and Event Rental
Cake and Baked Goods by Sweet Heather Anne
Chairs and Chargers provided by Special Events Rental
Venue – Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford – http://www.thehenryford.org/privateevents/venues_lovetthall.aspx
Hair and Makeup by Figo Salon
Jewelry by Stones ‘n Sterling
Decorative shapes provided by Sugar Paper
PS. We also created a version without the text list of vendors for Caleb and Laura – who knows – they may actually tell people that this is from their wedding day… so DON’T tell ANYONE

Help us achieve ROCKSTAR-status
July 2, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Who doesn’t want to be famous? Okay – maybe it’s a little far fetched… but for the past two years we’ve been named Best Videographer by WDIV’s 4 The Best. We’ve heard that if you win three years in a row (back to back to back), that you automatically receive ROCKSTAR-status and a high-five from our mailman.
It only takes like 37′ish seconds to vote. Please do it… and only ONCE. We’re in it to win it – but not by cheating. So tell all your friends, family members, even people you don’t talk to. We love you for it.
Forever yours,
The Epic Motion Crew
XOXO

Kristen + Beau’s Wedding Film Trailer {the fish and the cake}
June 29, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
I’ve known Kristen for a while now; she works at the fabulous Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan. You can imagine how many different wedding professionals she works with week in and week out and to think she chose us: SO cool. She is a stinkin’ riot, she’s pretty, she’s funny, and I’m still wondering if we have met a girl that has been more excited about her wedding than K.
The week before the wedding, I FINALLY was able to meet Beau. I was beginning to wonder if this guy actually existed… and not only does he exist – but he’s totally rad. He was definitely looking forward to the wedding, but his excitement paled in comparison to Kristen’s…
The event was definitely “something beautiful” (which was also the theme) and we were so honored to have been apart of the festivities.
Thank you guys – for real, yo.
