Carolyn + George’s Same Day Edit
July 31, 2010 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment
Love love love these guys. I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the entire day – and it really is due to the fact that Carolyn and George are the SAME WAY. Great attitudes… great hearts.. great people to be around.
MGM Grand was the host for the party and Saints Peter and Paul Jesuit Church was where the promises were exchanged.
We worked with our friends Jen and Jason from Imaginz Photographic Studio and their assistant Jaime.
My favorite part of the day: After the same day edit played, I gave George a hug and proceeded to give Carolyn a hug – but gave her a moment to collect herself as she was in the middle of crying. This is one of the only times when it’s okay to make the bride cry…
ps. You guys “made” the blog. Congrats.
Congrats again, C+G – much love to you both, your families’n'friends, and your maids of honor

A new unveiling at Studio 67
July 31, 2010 | Filed Under Studio 67 | Leave a Comment
A few of our faithful blog followers/fans have noticed that we have a new, snazzy ending to our SDEs and have sent us email comments saying they really like it - we're so glad! A few weeks ago we found Dan Johnson, the creative director and owner of Panda Motion online in our search for an animation graphic designer. Several months ago we rebranded with the help of Into The Dark Room and we love our new logo and wanted something a bit more polished done with it to use in our feature films and SDEs. Dan's vision was exactly what we were hoping for. In his first email response to us he said the following "When I think of your logo I quickly thought of lights and depth of field. What if there were some circular particles floating close to the camera and far away creating the depth of field? I would try to make it subtle and clean. We could reveal your logo through changing the focus of the camera." Brian and I immediately felt connected to Dan. He used terms we talk about constantly in our cinematography and photography work and we loved the whole depth of field and changing focus concepts. Within a couple of days through no more than 3 emails back and forth we had our final animation design and were so excited to premiere it last Saturday at the end of Jennifer and John's Same Day Edit. We are so impressed with the professionalism and speed in which Dan took our logo design and created a beautiful animated piece for us. If you are in need of animation work or logo/branding for your business or pleasure we highly recommend Dan who also owns Spin My Logo. Check out the work he and his team have done... it's really great!
Helen + Neil {Same-Day-Edit}
July 31, 2010 | Filed Under Cloud Nine Creative | Leave a Comment
I first met Helen + Neil at the Creme de la Creme wedding show in Vancouver this past November. From the moment we first chatted I knew their wedding would be a fun one to film – all 3 of us really just clicked from the beginning. Every time I saw Neil he was smiling from ear to ear, and was so happy and accommodating to us during the lead up to his wedding. I wondered how his smile would hold up during a long wedding day full of smiling but Neil held true and the grin never faded! When we left at the end of the night, I said to Neil that I couldn’t believe how time had flown since I’d first met them and he agreed – “and now we’re here tonight, and it’s amazing!”. I’m honoured that they had us there to film their wedding for them and moments like that remind me just how important it is what we do for our clients.
Here’s the Same-Day-Edit that we created for them on the day of their wedding and showed to their guests at their reception.

Kylie and Clay, Intro
July 31, 2010 | Filed Under Mason Jar Films | Leave a Comment
Kourtney, Adam, and I jetted on down to the Texas coast last month to document the wedding of Kylie and Clay.
Kylie is Waco born and bred, and like so many of the Waco family weddings in the past, Kylie's guests did not disappoint when it came to rockin' out at the reception. The party could've easily gone all night long.
But most importantly, there's just something else about my Waco family weddings, this esprit de corps, this camaraderie that seems to bind everyone together. As one rehearsal dinner toaster said, "as a couple, you surround yourself with the best of people." Everything always just feels right.
Kylie and Clay, thanks for having us, and we know this 'first minute' will get you sufficiently excited to see what else is awaiting you at the end of next week!

Tack + Hoe Ping Prewedding Film Teaser “Melbourne with love”
July 30, 2010 | Filed Under Paper Cranes Productions | Leave a Comment
We met Tack and Hoe Ping last year where they shared their love story with us in a nice Melbourne Cafe. It was very obvious to us that Tack is a very sweet guy where girls all over the world will probably go “aaaawwww……….” while watching their prewedding film. Hoe Ping is also very caring. She likes to make handmade stuff to give to Tack as pressies.
We had so much fun shooting in Melbourne with them. It was definitely a smooth sailing shoot and we can’t wait to go back and do another one cause its such a beautiful city!
The highlight of this film for us is the tram station scene. watch out for it!

canon cinema caravan – day 20 thru 25
July 30, 2010 | Filed Under StillMotion | Leave a Comment
yesterday marked the end of the “main” part of the canon cinema caravan. we still have one more city to go – san francisco on the 10th and 11th of august, but we’re home for the next little while with some really exciting projects on the go!
we had an amazing time and met all kinds of inspiring people. we’re a little sad it’s coming to an end. :(
here are some photos from the last few days of the trip.

On the way towards Mendocino. Shot through the bus window.

A 9-shot panorama stitched in PS. On the right, you see the road we took as we continued on. [Please click to enlarge]

I can only imagine the sound this tree made as it came crashing down.

P and Jordan wait for me just outside the Ace as I photograph my journey to the front door.

This is a little sign by the sink in our hotel room.

As we waited for appetizers, I grabbed some shots inside the brewery. Got the low down on the process too. This compilation reflects how I felt in there. Where do I look first!? I only had about 60 seconds to get these shots, so I was hurrying, seeing, feeling, thinking, all at the same time!

I love how the perspective of the wider lens gives this photo so much more attitude, while the open aperture gives me the opportunity to focus the viewer to the strongest part of the image.

Gina, our buddy from Canon munches on a sweet bacon treat. Shot with the 24 to really make her hand pop out of the image, but cropped in to really draw you into the yum.

The pen marks the spot for when the shot is redone (a few times). Spring, our model, was superb.

This is one of the bridges I jogged across. The G9 shoots a little more square than DSLRs. In this case, I think it works well, since there wasn’t much happening on the right side of the landscape.

Dave from Derby gets vocal at the dinner table. Shot with the 24 on a 7D. Brought this for it’s performance in low light.

Time to go home.
Maria & Rob | Fort Tilden E-session
July 30, 2010 | Filed Under Unique Visions Studio | Leave a Comment
Rob proposed to Maria on a hot air balloon and so the couple wanted to incorporate that idea into their engagement session. We chose the location for its dramatic contrast and colors, but also for the serene seclusion from the hustle and bustle of New York so shooting at Queen’s Fort Tilden was perfect.
These are just some of the more favorite shots.

Angela & Andre – Wedding Highlights
July 30, 2010 | Filed Under D'nM Video Productions | Leave a Comment
Angela and Andre’s wedding day was a lot of fun for us. We got to film Andre and the boys put through a series of tests to be able to gain access to Angela’s house, including Andre trying to figure out how to change a diaper and how to drink from a baby-bottle! We had the pleasure of shooting alongside the awesome team at Saxon Cole Photography. And were able to share a Same-Day-Edit at their reception at the QVB Tea Rooms, which received a great response from the guests.
We are now pleased to present the wedding highlights. Please feel free to leave a comment below.

It might sound funny to say that Leah and Heath were so excited for their wedding day to arrive… I mean, who isn’t? But this couple had dated for NINE YEARS! They were waiting for Heath to finish law school before they got engaged, so when the big day finally arrived this was one happy bunch to be around. Their joy and laughter were contagious, and we wanted their trailer to reflect that.

On July 18th, we headed to the historic Tinkling Spring Church in Fishersville, Virginia for Kyle & Chris’s gorgeous wedding. After getting to know Kyle’s family during the bridal preps, I knew we were going to capture some amazing moments throughout the day. After the ceremony we headed across the mountain to Veritas Vineyards for the reception, which was absolutely gorgeous. The lighting was amazing and we were able to do some pretty epic Steadicam shots before heading inside for some really fun dancing. From the little moments in the beginning of the day that led to some pretty hilarious moments at night, we had an incredible time getting to know Kyle & Chris and are so blessed to have captured their special day.
I hope you enjoy the highlights! :]

July 29, 2010 | Filed Under Vantage Point | Leave a Comment
This day had it ALL going on; but if we had to describe it in one word, it would have to be FUN!! Sybelle rocks any room she enters and her larger-than-life personality definitely rocks her wedding film. She had a blast, and her effervescence set a tone of wonder, joy, and delight for the entire day. (Be sure to stay tuned to the end for an unexpected surprise!) Not withstanding, Sybelle has a very serious love for her man, Rudy, and that's our focus in the opening of the clip.
Many thanks to LaDawn Williams, Platinum Lining Events, for helping Sybelle create the wedding of her dreams; and Dana Grant of Dana Grant Photography for the wickedly fabulous photo above!
