Love Songs

February 28, 2009 | Filed Under GENERATIONS videostories | Leave a Comment

Jack, my partner in life and work, and I often veer toward different styles. My style tends to be about intimacy and stories and Jack's is more about music and romance.
Jack's roots are in music - dj'ing when he can; and a veteran of a short-stint in Boston's music radio scene. Music enters a room with Jack, and Jack's mental as well as digital music library spans all genres.

As an outgrowth of our creative evolution, we now offer LOVE SONGS - romantic, art house, music videos.
Short, glamorous, stylized - on your custom engraved IPod.

Check out "Leigh and George" and "Kristie and Jeff" on our VIDEO GALLERY as examples of our Love Song Videography.

welcome to the stillmotion experience

February 28, 2009 | Filed Under StillMotion | Leave a Comment

some of you may have noticed that we have some links on the right hand side of the blog. one goes to our main site, while the other goes to stillmotionexperience.com. if you've tried to get to the experience site over the last week you probably encountered that rather annoying countdown timer once again. well, as of now, our awesome designers over at funnel.tv have just given us the green light for stillmotionexperience to go live.

this will be the place where we can announce all of the events we will be a part of, our in-studio evolution experience, as well as some really exciting new offerings we are proud to bring to the industry.

if your interested in an educational offering you don't see listed there, please use the contact form on the site to send us your suggestions. bringing out the experience to australia was brought about solely by others who expressed enough interest in having us there.

we feel a great sense of gratitude to all of those who were a part of our first two evolution experiences. while we hope that the experience provided inspiration for you, it was the inspiration that all of you gave to us that really led to the creation of this new site. from greg's unrelenting enthusiasm, to steve's humor, lawrence's past life as a body builder, to nicole's very moving words about what she sees in the art we produce, everything came together to make this an unbelievable experience for all of us.

thank you to our official stillmotion models vicky of vicky + ricky. thank you to allie + thomas, tiffani + ryan, jen, sandy, jessica, and stella + chi (who drove quite the distance) who all added such a warm energy to the experience as our models.

most of all, thank you to jaime of blueprint events. without her passion, energy, and lack of sleep, we wouldn't have been able to pull everything together in nearly the same fashion as we did. she single handedly ensured that everybody had transportation, accomodations, she scouted out the best venues for food, brought in awesome catering, had coffee and drinks ready for us daily, and still found time to deal with some last minute changes when the bad weather hit so that nothing skipped a beat. so thank you jaime for your amazing talent and for everything you have done for all of us.

P.

Spencer’s Animal House

February 28, 2009 | Filed Under David Robin Films | Leave a Comment

Had a lot of fun creating this Bar Mitzvah concept video inspired by the movie “Animal House”. I really tried to capture the “heart” of the original movie without having to touch any of the R rated content. These are 13 year olds after all! :-)

The supremely talented Loyd Calomay helped with a ton of the writing as well as helping out on our main shoot day. So a HUGE thank you to him for all his efforts.

Other crew members included cinematographer Anthony Kuhnz, audio assistant Alex Bromberg and digital effects artist Luis Naranjo.

Gemma & Alick’s wedding video set at the Four Season Hotel, Hampshire

February 28, 2009 | Filed Under Ever After Videos | Leave a Comment

A while ago, I posted the trailer to Gemma & Alick’s wedding film. For some time now, I’ve been meaning to add their highlights to the blog too, but I just haven’t managed to get around to it, until today!
Gemma and Alick’s wedding was back in August at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire. They had chosen for an outdoor ceremony in the hotel’s beautiful walled garden, however, it looked like the weather didn’t want to play along. Rain clouds were creeping in closer, the venue was keeping an eye on a detailed minute by minute forecast and a decision on whether to have the ceremony indoors or outdoors, was held off until the last minute. Luckily, the heavens didn’t open and they were able to hold the ceremony outside!
The ceremony was beautifully conducted by the couple’s friend Malcolm, who also made all the flower arrangements for the wedding day. Gemma and Alick, had actually been legally married the day before, this allowed them to personalise their ceremony with Alick’s Jewish heritage.
The rest of the day was just wonderful, beautiful sunny weather, a string quartet, a choccywoccydoodah wedding cake, and in the evening, some traditional Jewish dancing and a Chinese lantern release. The Chinese lanterns really kept the venue on its toes, ready with fire extinguishers on the roof, but for all of us, they added that extra fairytale feeling to an already magical day. We hope their married life may be just as beautiful and perfect!

Charlotte & Ry Highlight

February 28, 2009 | Filed Under Living Lens Videography | Leave a Comment

It’s been a while since we posted the Trailer, so here is the highlight of their day. I am glad we were able to also capture some of the location around Apollo Bay as it was so much a part of their day.
The clip feels just like Charlotte and Ry were on the day so easy going and just happy to share the day with everyone and we feel privileged to have captured their beautiful day.

Don’t hesitate to leave some comments. We love comments :)

From the digital world to reality…. NatNat + Nick’s SDE

February 27, 2009 | Filed Under StillMotion | Leave a Comment

As I'm sure that avid followers of the blog have noticed, there are a healthy number of blog stalkers participants who love to voice their appreciation and enthusiasm of our work (THANK YOU). Off the top of my head; Ngoc, NatNat, Vicky immediately come to mind.

So last week we finally shot Nick + Nat(Nat's) wedding; and she is every bit as funny, quirky, and cool as you'd expect from her blog posts. With that said, I believe that Nat always wanted an emotional SDE, and by looking @ the crazy tear shots in her SDE (including one that is arguably the mother of them all), she made the job easy for us.

As this is one of the last Premium SDE's that the team will be doing for some time (where I get to work alongside both Konrad + Patrick at a wedding), I'm sadly going to miss the comraderie.

Enjoy the FIRST SDE on the new blog (while Konrad + myself continue to stress plan for Patrick + Amina's wedding film)!

-MYW.

ps. Also thanks to T-Roy for the help during the reception.

The First All 5D Wedding Video Shoot

February 27, 2009 | Filed Under Jason Magbanua | Wedding Videographer | Leave a Comment

It’s dangerous what the mind can think of during idle times.

Case in point: Four of the most prolific (most idle?) studios in the land banded together, planned and executed what could be perhaps the first all 5D wedding video shoot in the world.

Why? Why not?

It was unlike any experience I’ve been through in my nine year career as a videographer. The feeling was overwhelming - working side by side with the industry’s greats not just in the country but of the world as well. I was both fortunate and proud. This may not happen again.

An all 5D Wedding Video Shoot and Same Day Edit: Irene and David from Jason Magbanua on Vimeo.

The clip uploaded is the Same Day Edit.

Funny.  There wasn’t even supposed to be an SDE.  But during the preps we figured we owed David and Irene.  The footage was so voluminous (and processor intensive) that we had to downconvert the footage to SD to edit properly.

Major thanks to the people who made this happen, most especially to Dino Lara (who hooked up the gang with the couple),  Chinkie Uy- Agregado who helped in the day coordination, and the Makeup Studio team.

Thanks to MangoRed and M+K for lending us cameras and lenses. And to an old groom friend Winston who lent me the 300mm. =)

Of course my deepest gratitude goes to my videographer friends who made this shoot possible.

Pretty Littles

February 27, 2009 | Filed Under Vanessa McKellar Productions | Leave a Comment

I've seen some super cute little things lately and I thought I'd share them with my (mostly female) readers, because well, they're just so darn cute!

Let's start with this little arrangement I bought for my mom's birthday gift. I picked it up at Garden Style Florist here in Tyler and we think it's adorable. I even got to pick which color flowers I wanted in the container, and a matching ribbon to make a bow (that you can't see). My mom loves it and has it in the window by her kitchen sink.

Next we have a sweet little tea-time vignette. My mom, my sister, my grandmother and I were all together for my sister's bridal shower, and so we had some tea together one evening. My mom made these cookies from scratch and used a special cookie cutter that makes a little groove so that you can hook the cookie onto a teacup. I couldn't resist taking a picture before we daintily dug in.

And lastly, here is a beautiful floral arrangement that my hubby picked up for me for Valentine's Day. It's from La Tee Da Flowers on the Square, and I just love it. I have it right next to my computer as I edit, and it brightens everything and smells wonderful too. Thanks Brent!

Hope you enjoyed this little foray into the land of girly foo-foo stuff!

Oscars Governors Ball 2009

Once again we were honored by being asked to document the 2009 Oscars Governors Ball at the Kodak Theater. It was very exciting being behind the scenes shooting this event, culminating in the arrival of all the guests and celebrities. The Asian inspired theme was drop dead stunning, created by Cheryl and her amazing team at Sequoia Productions.

Congratulations to Natalie and Perry who celebrated their wedding on Sunday 15th February 2009.

moudanie_np_church062

Not a very wordy blog entry today because for Natalie & Perry’s wedding we were only doing still photography for the morning preparations & dual ceremonies for a close colleague, however we thought you’d like to see our photography from the morning’s events.

The photos are a good representation of Evro’s candid shooting style.

Natalie & Perry celebrated their wedding with two ceremonies, the first a Catholic ceremony at St Thomas More Church at Brighton Le Sands, immediately followed by an Orthodox ceremony at The Annunciation of the Virgin Greek Orthodox Church in Kogarah.

The Anti-Recession e*session Giveaway Video is here!

February 26, 2009 | Filed Under Epic Motion | Leave a Comment

Jordon + Doug: e*session from Ryan Koral on Vimeo.

Jordon and Doug were the winners of our contest this month. We had an absolute blast shooting with them. We tooled around Royal Oak for a little bit to get some outside fun-ness, then we road to Warren where we shot the interview along with some other stuff around the building. The place was totally rad.

It was my first hands on experience with the new Canon 5d Mark II that photographers and videographers have been buzzing about for some time… and I have to say - it was quite cool. We’ll be putting together a little behind the scenes video and I’ll go into a little more depth of what we did and how it worked, etc..

I want to thank Abby Rose for letting us play with her Mark II, Matt Trubac for shooting Steadicam and our behind the scenes footage, and John, Sean, and Grant for doing your thing - epic style. I also wanted to give a shout out to Art Bonus for allowing us to use the space at Stage 3 - the place is RAD. We also wanted to say thanks to PF Changs for our yummy late night dinner. So good.

Congrats to Jordon and Doug on their wedding which is next month!

Stay tuned for pictures… we’ll post some of our favorites soon. In the mean time, let us know what you think of the video!

Our Blog is Back!!

February 26, 2009 | Filed Under Moudanier Pictures | Leave a Comment

Dear blog readers,

Please accept our apologies for the recent issue we had with our blog.  In the process of upgrading to the latest version of blog software.  We have since discovered that this new version has issues with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 (the one that comes with Windows XP)  we highly recommend using the Firefox Internet Browser as it is more secure, has better safety features and just works better than Microsoft IE7.

Thanks to all our readers who alerted us to the IE7 problem :)

The last three missing blog posts (Natalie & Perry, Beth & Simon & Rebecca & Ben) will be re-uploaded on Friday.
