Rutsen and Katie

April 30, 2008 | Filed Under HumanStory Wedding Day Films | Leave a Comment

Rutsen and Katie are friends of mine. Many people know them as great fashion and wedding photographers but I know them as a great couple. They welcomed me into every moment of their wedding weekend from Dad trying on his tuxedo to the rehearsal dinner to the weddding. They even sat down with me the next day to talk for two hours, no matter how tired they were. What a great weekend. I got the chance to meet their families and friends and always felt so welcomed by them.

The wedding was at The Virginia House and the receprion was at Virginia Crossings Resort. Colleen Cook of CC's Events coordinated the day and Mel and Sam of Worthington Photography photographed the event for them.

Thanks so much for May Lee for shooting this film with me. She is truly a gifted storyteller.
Candice Nelms is cutting the film and put this trailer together. She is absolutely one of the most talented editors I have had a chance to work with. Thanks Candice.

Sara + Ben - Reception & First Dance

April 30, 2008 | Filed Under Ambient Sky Studios | Leave a Comment

We wanted to give you all an idea of what the reception portion of our wedding films look like. Here is Sara and Ben's Reception Montage that goes right into their first dance. They were a fun loving couple who were as relaxed as any couple we've seen on their wedding day. It was an honor to be a part of their day and to be able to create what we believe will be their most cherished memento from their wedding day...other than each other of course! :)

After having shot a number of weddings over the years, I have to say that going right into your first dance after you've been announced is a great way to start your party. There's no time to get nervous, everyones cheering for you and you've just married the love of your life, so take that confidence and euphoria right out onto the dance floor!

As you can see in this video, Sara and Ben didn't have a care in the world on their wedding day....wanna know why? They hired our friends over at Blush Bridal Consultation Group to help them coordinate the wedding of their dreams. Maybe you're extremely organized and would prefer to do all the planning your self though... You may still want to consider at least hiring a bridal consultant to just help out on your wedding day. It's the best way to ensure you and your family, mainly the moms out there, ;) get to enjoy your wedding without having to worry about all the little details. You'll even see Michelle and Jennifer from Blush holding the door open for Sara and Ben as they make their grand Entrance!

For more information on hiring a bridal consultant please visit www.Oregonabc.com.

Enjoy!

Nancy & Joe’s Same Day Edit

April 29, 2008 | Filed Under Elysium Productions | Leave a Comment

Nancy & Joe had an amazing wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel this past weekend. We had an awesome team at this event including Carolyn Chen (who was the coordinator extraordinaire) and Victor Sizemore (The fabulous and always fun photographer). The color scheme was really pretty, but I'm a bit biased because it was the same color scheme I picked for my wedding. The party was a blast and everyone had a great time! Congratulations Nancy & Joe!

Natalie + Daniel - The Dominican Highlights

April 28, 2008 | Filed Under StillMotion | Leave a Comment

While the whole StillMotion team is off in London, England to shoot a wedding this weekend, I thought it would be fun to post another destination wedding we shot, that of Natalie and Daniel from last October. What a contrast between the stress levels from weddings in Canada and the US compared to somewhere tropical. The timing of the ceremony was decided on that afternoon, the spa where Natalie got ready was located right beside two large pools and an open bar, and the resort had some very comfy beds covered by a canopy, overlooking the ocean. The ceremony ended up happening right before sunset, which was rather breathtaking, but that didn’t leave much time for a photo-session afterwards. Rather than trying to rush through the shots, which is nearly impossible to do in such a gorgeous location, we all decided to take it easy and then come back out the next day for a day after/ trash the dress type shoot. When it came to putting the highlights together, I wanted to blend all of these different elements together and create something more akin to an overview of the entire trip, rather than just a chronological telling of one day.

Going to Guatemala

Our office is closed until May 6th while Kristen* and the crew head down to La Antigua Guatemala for the wedding of one of our "elegante" NY couples. This year has been a pretty heavy travel year so far which is why the blog has not been given the love it deserves. But we promise lots of great content in the coming months.
La Antigua is this incredibly charming Spanish Colonial Town set amongst coffee plantations, flower farms and volcanoes. The city is filled with amazing ruins and hotels that are 5 century old monasteries! We are so excited and honored to be able to capture this location on 16mm film and Super 8mm. We look forward to sharing some of our journey here in the future.

Hasta Luego!

Serena & Jason’s Highlights

April 27, 2008 | Filed Under Cloud Nine Creative | Leave a Comment

Serena & Jason had a beautiful wedding that was a perfect fusion of family and tradition.  This was evident in the 3 separate tea ceremonies that they had during their wedding day (a new record for us to film!).  We shot their wedding alongside the talented photography team of Stephen and Jennifer Bebb of Bebb Studios and after heading off for photos in the afternoon captured the end of the day at Serena & Jason’s traditional chinese banquet.  Click on the image below to watch the highlights we put together for them.  As always, if you’re finding that the video is stalling during playback, it’s best to let it fully download before trying to watch it (which should only take a few short minutes).

Serene - The perfect word to describe this video.

We took the long route this Saturday for Kathryn and Ian’s wedding. Preps at the Peninsula, Ceremony at San Antonio and then down south at Fernbrook for the dinner reception.

Muted colors, shallow DOF and a slow even pace abound.

Something new for 2008 - HD anyone?

April 25, 2008 | Filed Under EventFilmmaker News | Leave a Comment

I've fielded some questions about High Definition (HD) lately.  So I thought I would give you the low down (from our perspective) as to why you should consider a High Definition wedding video provider on your wedding day.

The first noticeable difference of High Definition is the clarity of the video.  HD has over six times the sharpness and clarity of Standard Definition.
Second, the color resolution of HD is amazing, with twice the color resolution compared to Standard Definition.
Third, with todays TV's stretching the picture over a screen which has a 16:9 aspect ratio, more closely emulating a movie screen - HD is necessary to ensure you don't lose picture quality with the wider screens, but rather gain quality by a large margin.

If you're a bride and groom who will only settle for the best - you're going to get it with an HD wedding video.  You not only get our complete artistic and creative commitment in creating your masterpiece, you'll enjoy your production made from all the latest technology available.

If you would like more information about our High Definition wedding video packages send us an email, we'd love to hear from you!

This is not Givefunla’s production…What is this?

April 25, 2008 | Filed Under Givefunla | Leave a Comment

This is not Givefunla’s production…What is this?

http://vreteam.blogspot.com

This is VRE Team!

VRE Team is formed with a group of experience editors and videographers and start video production from May 07 to provide service for photographers / co-operator only.

Relationship between VRE team and Givefunla

In the past years, Givefunla used to accept some co-operated photographers order to provide economic video production.

However, As Luckmui@ Givefunla wish to concentrate in the video production that she like the unique fun and blissful style mostly, So Givefunla make decision not to accept those photographe’s order from May 07.

To consider about the request of the photographer Givefunla used to co-operated before, Luckymui@Givefunla trainned some editors and contact more videographers to keep running of the photographer’s video production.

Therefore all of the video production order from the photographers used to co-operate with Givefunla before are now handling by VRE team and it has been run for some days already. And some of the photographers keep referring clients to contact Givefunla directly for advance video production.

During year end of 07, Luckymui@Givefunla still keep an eye on the quality of VRE production to ensure it can hit the standard of the photographer’s budget and quality.

And Givefunla cerebrate for the independence of VRE team in April 2008!

(and Luckymui are more than happy to have much time to develop new ideas and have rest! yeah! )

Nicole & Patrick’s Highlights

April 24, 2008 | Filed Under Elysium Productions | Leave a Comment

Nicole & Patrick had a fairytale wedding at the Disneyland Hotel! Kyle and Desiree shot this one and had a fabulous time. The photographer was the always fun Jim Kennedy who works as fast as he talks (we seriously get a workout when we shoot alongside him!) Kyle's favorite thing about this wedding was the caramel apples as favors... no she didn't eat one! But thought it was a super unique thing to place on the tables for the guests (and a great treat too!)

April and Dustin

April 24, 2008 | Filed Under HumanStory Wedding Day Films | Leave a Comment

I had such a nice weekend. I was fortunate to get to know a great couple and their families. They were so open and welcoming to me. That really makes me feel good about what I do.
April and Dustin are an amazing couple with a great story and told it honestly and from the heart. As did their parents. There were no "sound bites", just real honest stories. It was very beautiful to witness.

Angela and Ashton at Celebrations at the Reservoir not only helped make the day great for April and Dustin, but they also made me feel welcome and were so helpful and accomadating to the needs of the film.
The photographer was Dave Marks. Check out their website if you haven't already. Thanks to Dan Brazda for shooting the wedding with me. What a talented guy.

Take care.

William

Their photographer is Memento Production, they are couple working together like us!
