Gary & Missy’s wedding part one

Gary & Missy's wedding was a really special event for several reasons. Not only did it take place on their amazing ranch in Kelowna, British Columbia, but it was a very intimate celebration and many of the guests and wedding party happen to be the most celebrated photographers in the world. Joe Buissink served as the officiant (he did manage to get a few snaps off during the ceremony though) and he did a fabulous job! Gary & Missy opened up their home for three + days of fun on the ranch. Everyone pretty much hung out in the pool the day before/after the wedding. On the Wedding Day the ranch was transformed into a magical place with tons of candles and flowers. My favorite part was the ceremony which was super unique - circular seating with pillows and petals on the ground for guests to sit. Missy of course looked amazing... I absolutely loved her dress! Check out some of the photos on Jessica Claire's blog. She was assisted by Jen Bebb so there are some photos on her blog as well. So enough talking. Here is a short video of the first part of the wedding day + the day before. More to come later! Thanks to the support of all you people out there, Velvetine Productions are booked solid for 2007. We have already met our quota for 2008 but interest has never been greater in our WeddingStory so again, I'm doing all I can to add some more dates to the calendar... as soon as I can find a couple of good camera persons who meet our high standards!

Savor the countryside
Watch the sun rise (if you can force yourself to wake up at five frikkin’ am)
Watch the sun set (if you can manage to remain sober by 6pm)
Live in a trailer and be proud to be called trailer trash.

Mauritius in November

Bruce and I have the best jobs. Truly! I can’t imagine a better life. Not only do we get to work together in an extremely creative and inspiring business, but more than ever, we get to travel the world, meet new people and experience new forms of culture nearly every weekend. This winter, whilst Canadians are heading into the winter chill, we’ll be heading across several ponds to Mauritius - yes - south east of Africa!!!
The island of Mauritius sits 800 kms from the eastern coast of Madagascar, and it’s home to Jennifer and Clifford.
J+C watched one of our online trailers (we filmed Jennifers cousin’s wedding last summer) and asked us a few months ago if we would consider filming their wedding.
After a few months of planning (we wanted to immediately say yes but since we have two magazines hitting newsstands in Nov/Dec, we did have pause). Finally we worked out the schedule and things are a go!
We’re so excited, and can’t wait to update you on the adventure.

April & Nick’s Same Day Edit

This is a very unique Same Day Edit! Last December we were hired to film Nick proposing to April. Of course we were ecstatic about this opportunity, and we rolled some of this footage into their Same Day Edit for their wedding which took place last weekend at Montage in Laguna Beach. This was another amazing wedding and I can honestly say that I've never seen such gigantic and gorgeous flower center pieces as the ones at this wedding!Christopher Aldama provided them. He is a super talented event designer... this event even had a lit-up bar and lounge furniture. Too cool! Details Details handled all the coordination and of course did a fabulous job. Aaron Delesie took the photos. He & his wife are always a blast to work with and they are uber talented! As soon as I can get my hands on one of the photos, I will replace the still-frame below with one. My favorite thing about this wedding? April & Nick! They are such a cool couple and so in love! Oh... and I LOVED the bride's St. Pucchi gown. Check out the train... gorgeous!! Congratulations April & Nick!

Well this post is kind of overdue, but I just wanted to share with you all my new niece! My sister gave birth to little Claire Elizabeth on July 31st. She is the first grandchild in the family and let me tell you... my parents are sooooo excited! (And phew... the pressure's off me!!) Here are some pics. (I think my mom is wearing a shirt that was left in my closet when I left for college 15 years ago!! Mom!!!)

Bailey & Kevin’s Same Day Edit

Bailey and Kevin and all their wedding guests flew in from Oklahoma for a spectacular wedding at the Montage in Laguna Beach. Bailey and Kevin were soooo excited to get married and their energy, enthusiasm and joy permeated through the entire event. Brooke from Details Details coordinated this fabulous 'pink tastic' wedding and Ira Lippke captured the stills with his usual style and keen eye. Mike Carcano played the tunes and Square Root provided the wonderfully pink décor.Bailey and Kevin, you were a delight to work with....and Kevin, we'd be thrilled to travel to Oklahoma and shoot your brothers wedding next year!

Here is yet another fabulous event at the Hyatt Huntington Beach shot alongside Victor Sizemore. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to shoot this event but Alex did and hasn’t stopped talking about it. We had such a unique venue to film at this wedding. Kristie and Michael were married at the Herry Ford Museum. The ceremony took place on a theater stage and the reception was in the center of the museum. Talk about cool decorations! You had an airplane flying overhead, train coming down the hallway, and an old vintage McDonald sign. It was definitely a reception site like no other. As a guest, you get to take a step into the past while celebrating a new beginning with the bride and groom. Kristie and Michael, along with their children, celebrated their new life together.

Wow... I love this new blog...Anyway - I wanted to post another special video. Michelle & Gene were married at the Montage Resort & Spa and instead of doing a Same Day Edit, the opted for a NEXT DAY edit instead! This one shows a little bit more of the reception since it didn't have to be displayed DURING the reception (and thus finished earlier). They wanted it done this way because they were leaving for Asia and wanted something to bring with them to show relatives and friends. What a great idea! As usual it was an all-star team: Details Details handled all the coordination & planning, and Ira Lippke took all the pics! And man... did he get some killer shots. The light was INCREDIBLE that day and we had tons of time for photos! Congrats Michelle & Gene!
